From meditation to socialising: How women can dodge stress during pregnancy
Pregnancy stress may be caused by several reasons, such as hormonal fluctuation, bodily pain, anxiety of delivery, economic burden, and changes in relationships. Long-term stress during pregnancy, however, is undesirable, and the adverse effects are sleep loss, increased blood pressure, and even preterm labor or low birth weight.
Pregnancy is a time of transformation in a woman’s life, characterized by drastic physical, emotional, and psychological changes. Although it is a time of happiness and expectation, it also turns out to be a time of higher stress and tension. Proper management of stress and good mental health during pregnancy are essential for both the baby and the mother in formation. Dr Puneet Rana Arora, Gynaecologist & IVF Expert, Director-CIFAR, Gurugram, shared tips for mums-to-be to take care of mental health.

Postpartum Complications And How They Differ In IVF Pregnancies!
While IVF is a very effective and safe fertility therapy, it is also associated with an increased risk of complications in the postpartum period. Knowing this facilitates enhanced preparation and care. With proper monitoring, the majority of women who get pregnant from IVF can have an uneventful postpartum.
In vitro fertilization (IVF) has transformed the branch of reproductive medicine, holding hope for millions of infertile couples. Although IVF pregnancies have healthy outcomes, IVF pregnancies are considered high-risk pregnancies compared to spontaneous conceptions. These risks persist during the postpartum phase, where the complications present differently or more frequently. Identification of these differences is critical for early intervention and maternal health.
Dr. Puneet Rana Arora, Gynaecologist & IVF Expert, Director- CIFAR, Gurugram shares how postpartum complications and how they differ in IVF pregnancies.
The Business Of fertility: Market Trends & Growth Opportunity In The IVF Industry
Infertility has become an increasing problem everywhere, prompting a healthy fertility business driven by In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). With altered lifestyles, late marriages, and medical conditions affecting fertility rates, the IVF market is experiencing massive growth. The business is no longer limited to hospitals—it’s a booming business with investments, innovation, and globalisation.
The application of IVF and other treatments for fertility is growing steadily. This increase has been due to increased infertility rates, increased levels of knowledge regarding treatment options, and increased societal acceptance of assisted reproduction. Most couples are also delaying the decision to have children, when usually they require fertility intervention. Fertility service providers and clinics are therefore registering increased patient volumes at all ages and segments.
Beat the Heat: Expert Summer Health Tips to Protect Your Kidneys, Boost IVF Success & Prevent Heat Stroke
Caring for your health during IVF treatment in the summer involves added caution because of the heat and possible stress on the body. First, drink lots of water to prevent dehydration, which affects overall health and IVF success.
Male infertility causes: Understanding factors that contribute to the condition
It is important to remember that male infertility accounts for about 40% – 50% of all infertility cases. Understanding the primary causes of male infertility is essential to a suitable response. Read on to know the factors that contribute to male infertility.
Dr. Puneet Rana Arora, Gynaecologist and IVF Expert Director-CIFAR, Gurugram says that infections can also have an impact on fertility in males. If individuals have a sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as chlamydia or gonorrhoea or other infections, they can create scarring or block sperm from getting to the reproductive system (epididymis, vas deferens, prostate, and seminal vesicle). An infection such as mumps (if suffered as an adult) can also impair fertility and impact the related glands and tissues upstream.
– How Does Cervical Cancer Affect Fertility in Hindi?
Pregnancy can decrease the risk of breast cancer.
Evidence shows Patients who became pregnant after hormone treatment showed a reduced risk, while those who did not conceive despite these treatments showed a higher risk of developing breast cancer. In such cases, infertility rather than hormonal treatment could be the possible cause.
Need to counter myths about fertility options
Fertility is one area in which there is a lot of scope for patients or advice seekers to get misled by rumours or fallacies.
Therefore, the need for educating people on the nuances of fertility cannot be understated.
The most common myth that people have is that visiting a fertility clinic means that they would be forced into an In vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure. Whereas, data at our Centre for Infertility & Assisted Reproduction (CIFAR) shows that in eight out of ten cases, conception can be achieved through non-IVF techniques.
IQ of IVF Babies as High as that of Normally Conceived Peers
There is no evidence to support claims that babies born using In vitro fertilization (IVF) face higher health risks like congenital defects, said experts at a panel discussion organised here to dispel myths about assisted reproductive procedures.
Many studies suggest that almost all IVF babies are healthy, and any observed risks are minimal and comparable to those associated with natural conception, said Dr Puneet Rana Arora, Gynaecologist & fertility specialist (IVF), Centre for Infertility & Assisted Reproduction (CIFAR), Gurugram.
Late night shifts may impact fertility in the long term: Dr Puneet Rana Arora
A good night’s sleep and a healthy, active lifestyle without any addiction is a perfect recipe for nurturing one’s fertility in years preceding the stage when one starts planning about conceiving a baby. Gynaecologist and fertility specialist (IVF), Centre for Infertility & Assisted Reproduction (CIFAR), Dr Puneet Rana Arora states that as young, career oriented and fun-loving adults, both men and women tend to ignore the possible long-term impacts of tobacco or liquor addiction or late night shifts which impact different individuals in different ways, including reduced semen count in men and poor ovarian egg reserve in women. “Fertility is never a concern when you are young and carefree.
With egg freezing, motherhood is now in control of career-driven women
The technique has also gained more and more social acceptance over the years and is no more seen as a stigma. In most cases, the privacy of the egg preserver is strictly guarded and all rules and regulations stipulated by the government are followed to assist the preserver to exercise her options of child-bearing at a later stage.
